This unusual and rare sign shows a cartoon character known as The Little King. The character was created by Otto Soglow.

"The Little King" was a comic strip that was distributed by King Features Syndicate, which is credited at the bottom of the image. The comic strip first appeared in The New Yorker magazine in 1931 and was later syndicated as a daily and Sunday strip. The Little King was used to advertise a king size mattress. It it six feet tall and had nine joints. His right foot is a bit discolored. There are small holes in the pillow and the hands due to how it was previously displayed, which was in a private home.
